De-realisation is a dissociative disorder, which occurs when the surrounding world ceases to feel real. People and things may seem ‘lifeless’ or ‘foggy’ to such an individual. This is something I experience personally.
The project plays with Rene Descartes ‘Cogito, ergo sum’- I think, therefore I am. This work probes at the delicacy of reality, while showing a potential existence through the image. I challenge my own de-realisation by photographing the tool which establishes me as real in time and space, creating a doubled observation event of mutual evidencing. Click on the project tab to see the entirety of the project.
